The New York Giants! Sadly Right on Point…

So as you may remember at the start of the season, I pegged the GMEN for 5-7 wins. Looks like they may get to 5, but it’s gonna be tough. DJ looks like he may be done for the year. Personally, I’d have Fromm start the rest of the season. Might as well see if the kid from Georgia has anything to offer. Why start Glennon at all? But little this team does makes any sense. So, another disaster season is about to be in the books. Sadly, we are almost getting used to this. Long gone are the glory days of yore. All we can do is look to the future and hope. What’s it gonna take? The first part is the easiest, say goodbye to Gettleman. But it’s more than that. Sure Gettleman was an unmitigated disaster and set us back 5-7 years, but, not all the blame lies with him. To stop this tide of expected failure moving forward, we need changes at every root cause including ownership. Not only has the game and NFL evolved from the Jason Garrett’s and Gettleman’s of the world, but also from Mara’s and Tisch’s. I’m not saying that Mara and Tisch need to sell the team. But they do need to bring in a new President/CEO and Chairman. It’s time to step away and become passive owners. Only then will the Giants hire the right GM. And subsequently, the right HC and coordinators. It trickles down from the top. It’s time to stop fighting the tide and pretending that it’s still 2012. Those were some good ol’ days, but play calling and schemes have evolved. Scouting has evolved. Let’s stop forcing the issue hoping that the dinosaurs of football past come back and actually take flight…
