Operation Monster Roid Takedown: New York Rangers Season Preview

This is going to be short, because who cares about the rest of the season right now. THIS IS ABOUT TONIGHT!

So the NHL isn’t dumb some times. Not at all. They pitted the Rangers against the Caps right up front. And are throwing it on TNT to boot. The reason: To see if 4 or 5 newly acquired tough guys for the Rangers can take down one of the worst humans in the sport. I’m talking about cheap shot, intent to make or kill, and roid rage freak (who actually has hockey talent when he isn’t trying to intentionally put players into the hospital) Tom Wilson of the Caps. Sure the teams will say it’s not all about Tom Wilson (even though the entire Ranger offseason centered around finding an answer to this menace), but an interesting line-up change already sees 6’6″ 230lb Jarred Tinordi (he has a history with Wilson) in for 5’11” 172lb Nils Lundqvist. So we will see. As I said it before, I am hugely in favor of the moves the Rangers made this off-season. They needed to get tougher. Much tougher in this division. And they still have talent to score some goals. Mission one: Chop down the Wilson beast. Mission two: Move on from it afterwards and win some games. It’s gonna be fun to watch. And yes, Mr. Wilson will be getting the Italian horns curse from me every second he is on the screen.
